After the split of the Spanish post-rock band Toundra in 2023, which has not yet been resolved, the throne for their successor is still vacant. The Italian trio "Platonick Dive" has what it takes to be the heir to the throne with the previously released 4th single "'Too Beautiful To Die Too Wild To Live'. As with the 3rd single Faro, the Italians, the only post-rock band I know of, manage to create a lot of atmosphere within a few minutes with very little effort. In contrast to the majority of post-rock bands, they get to the point well and do not extend the strumming phases to 10-15 minutes. After 3-4 minutes the strumming stops and a new song begins. Very simple and very different concept of post-rock. Hopefully they keep these radio lengths of their songs, it won't be boring in concert either.
