'In the Ashes' is the brilliant debut album from Swedish heavy rock and metal merchants TEMPLE OF DISCORD, led by Wytch guitarist Mattias Marklund. Dark and brooding, yet radiant with multifaceted appeal, 'In The Ashes' explores a wide range of genres including classic heavy metal, alternative rock and grunge, dark folk, and progressive rock. Marklund's vocals are intense and heartfelt, taking the instrumentation into uncharted emotional territories while constantly hovering on the brink of...
Hailing from Pirmasens, the German capital of shoe manufacturing, ZOAHR offering us a time and style capsule of early 70´s Prog Rock, jittery Detroit Blues drenched in a bit of Garage Rock, crowned by a clear and weightless voice. The opener "Endurance Race" is carried by a distorted leading bass. Not in the style of Lemmy's bass, but more like Chris Squire or Geddy Lee. The song lets you feel the tension of a long-distance race, the song never calms down and constantly pushes forward. A great...
If "Mind Mirage" is the red line the record lingers on, then you won´t need any drugs anymore. One of the most mesmerizing songs I ever heard. And at the same time, one of the most addictive loops ever created. OMG! It´s not Mothership anymore, it´s Kelley Juett and this is somethin completely different.
Just in case that you miss some heavy blues with some 70´s classic rock vibes, check out El Perro and get amazed about how much a simple blues scheme offers to jam and rock. I´m traveling through Spain, I cannot go to see them.
Andrew Stockdale´s Wolfmother is definitely the biggest reason to get your tickets for this year´s edition. Click on the button below and get the rest of the tickets.
This line-up is already a hell of a line-up and - rumor spreading´round - one act is still missing. It looks like the twin festival of the Blue Moon Festival in Cottbus, means like Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. Actually, Rock im Wald really is the sequel of Stoned from the Underground; half of the audience meet themself on both festivals.
Actually, this provisional line-up is quite promising. of course, we keep our fingers crossed that our beloved band The Great Machine can go on tour again and Orange Goblin will present us their latest album live on stage. Established in 2010, this festival and the staff prove a good instinct for good bands and we keep on waiting for the next wave of announcement.
I love Bandcamp and especially my personal algoritm which offers me incredible good music from all over the world. These guys blew my fuses out after I listened on my headphones. This is how Blues supposed to fill up with all different influences; call it psychedelic, call it Krautrock, call it Prog; these guys find in all of their songs the perfect mix and blend for creating a homogeneous and also unpredictable album. Actually there are no specific songs or preferred songs; all of them have a...
King Buffalo´s latest release captures their power, tightness and their trippy atmosphere during their concerts. A brilliant production in which you can listen to the tension and silence in the audience. This is a really fantastic live record, the feedback between the audience and the band is phenomenal.
