In my opinion, the Swiss band Six Months of Sun is, alongside the French band "The Necromancers", one of the most talented bands in terms of songwriting, technical skills and artwork. But somehow both bands seem to be happy with their status as semi-professional weekend bands. I don't understand why a band like Six Months of Sun puts more ideas into a 3 minute song than they do playing concerts. The previously released single "Ningen" also shows their ability on the instruments as well as in...
Babona's new album is a heavy mix of instrumental groove and crushing doom metal, and it pulls no punches. Think Karma to Burn, but darker, heavier, and with an ominous undertow that drags you into the depths. The song titles? This album sounds and grooves like Karma to Burn would have had a second guitarist, with the lead guitar practically singing and screaming. This album doesn't need lyrics to understand what the lead guitar is saying. The rhythm section grooves in the mid-tempo to half-time range and ensures that the listener can't stop headbanging. Mesmerizing hooks and fillings and unpredictable songs. This album is a silver lining to the loss of Karma to Burn. Fantastic record.

Wil Mecum died on April 29, 2021, as a result of a traumatic head injury, from an accidental fall, a couple of days before his 49th birthday. Will founded Karma to Burn in 1994 with bassist Rich Mullins and drummer Nathan Limbaugh. Will served as the only original member of the band's current lineup, which is rounded out by drummer Evan Devine (who joined in 2012) and bassist Eric Clutter (who joined in 2015).
