I guess, if you want to rock in the Netherlands, you will find huge foot steps made by Peter Pan Speedrock and it could be difficult to find your own way to rock. And it´s good to hear that Hell Valley High carry on the torch of melodic Scandinavian Rock and punky influenced Kick Ass rock with twin guitars and a catchy chorus, doing this on their own way, quite more melodic than PPSR and with a bit more of dirt than most of the Scandinavian bands. Yes! They did it again! Two months after their phenomenal debut "Demostarter" my beloved Russians Tres Perros Viejos released another EP with the same power and drive as their debut. And the band hadn´t change their unique mix of Hardcore, Sludge, Punk and Stoner Rock. The semi-acoustic track "Bob´s Dragon" doesn´t fit that well in their forward pushing wall of sound and truck engine of a record. 5/6 songs are pure killers concerning speed, power and a rage. Nothing new on the Oztralian front; Ass kickin´ Rock´n Roll à la Airbourne, Rose Tattoo, Taipan and with a hell of a female voice. I guess the band only knows to play two kinds of songs, the fast one and the stomping one. And rock both rocked out of my chair, made me bang my head and my wife looked a bit confused. Yes, finally a women fronted band which is able to rock and spread some fun. I´m looking forward to see them live.

Yes! This rocks! Right sound, right voice, right power, pedal to the metal, music that I missed for quite a long time. So I checked the rest of their promo material and this song is the exception of an almost more Doom and Sludge oriented album. What a pity. This song combines the drive and the power of "Green Machine" and Fu Manchu´s "King of the Road", which made me bang through the whole song.

This line-up is already a hell of a line-up and - rumor spreading´round - one act is still missing. It looks like the twin festival of the Blue Moon Festival in Cottbus, means like Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. Actually, Rock im Wald really is the sequel of Stoned from the Underground; half of the audience meet themself on both festivals.

Ridge is today´s peak; full throttle of fuzz, spiced with Kick Ass Rock and Punk, mighty riffs and heavy Blues. This record is the first record I have listened in its whole and I appreciated the diversity, the power and the songwriting. Cincinnati, Ohio, the home of Valley of the Sun and their competing buddies from Howl at the Sky. Both bands share the almost similar sense for groove and heaviness. Howl at the Sky is the more metal version of Ohio based kick-ass rock. Release day will be in July 2023 and their Bandcamp page offers not only good music but also great artwork.
