The Polish post-metal/post-rock band Traces to Nowhere released the highly acclaimed album "Lost Tribe" in 2024. They now present the album "Live at the Church," recorded in an abandoned evangelical church in Wielbark. The cover artwork represents the opposite of the music; Poland´s answer to Neurosis put out "Saviour´s Raft", a massive appetizer for their upcoming album. This band added a bit more atmospheric parts and their focus is more to combine contradictory musical styles instead of destroying musical and harmonic structures as Neurosis celebrate since almost 40 years. Sunnata are an obvious candidate for the upcoming Roadburn Festival 2024.
Hailing from Berlin, Grin offers us a raging and violent mix embeded in a groovy version of Neurosis. The band dissolves the static song structure of Neurosis and made them a bit more agile, almost dancable. The rage is listenable and feels real. To compare this first release with their first ever release, the latest is more accesible than their debut. For fans of powerful walls of noise you have to check this band out.
